Steering Gearbox Early Type 1

Add all of the items and a discount will be applied after your last selection. This kit includes everything to rebuild your Genuine VW or TRW steering gearbox. The kit includes: roller, worm, top cover, steel backed NOS FAG bearings, seals, shims, grease, plug, and gasket. This is for Type 3 and Type 1 steering gearbox.

Included in this kit are shims for adjusting the roller and worm in the steering box. One kit covers all shims for the box.

This steering gearbox is made from TRW template. It contains items in it that TRW removed in the past. These items are considered better to have in the box. The last runs of TRW boxes also needed to be rebuilt when new. These do not. I currently have two types of boxes. One contains NOS steel caged FAG bearings and upgraded seals. The other contains standard type of bearings and seals that TRW was using. The NOS FAG bearings are steel caged and have more ball bearings. An option below allows you to pick the grease for your box. I use John Deere Corn Head grease. For the grease option, it comes empty by default but you may ask for it to be filled before it ships or you may fill it yourself.
